Thai Buddha Mala #4

$232

This Mala resonates with the Thai Buddha, “Phra Phuttha Chao” which translates to “Lord Buddha” and the mantra Namo Tassa Bhagavato Arahato Sammā Sambuddhassa”- Honor to Him, the Blessed One, the Worthy One, the fully Enlightened One.

Thai Buddhist mantras (called Katha) are primarily rooted in the Theraveda tradition and chanted in Pali, which is an ancient language similar to Indian Sanskrit. They are typically used for showing reverence, seeking protection, or cultivating mindfulness.

In Thailand, “Phra Phutta Chao” is considered to be an alternative name for Siddhartha Gautama, who is the original Buddha from Nepal who spread Buddhism throughout India for many years. Many surrounding countries throughout Asia and other parts of the world adopted the core beliefs of Buddhist philosophy and developed their own version and practices. Thailand has a deeply rooted tradition of expressing the Buddha through statues, architecture, artwork, and amulets such as the one on this Thai Buddha Mala.
